Building a Picture of these McGoverns May 31, 2010

This is an addendum to an ongoing and evolving private site featuring the family tree for a McGovern Family who originated in Tullytrasna, Co Cavan, Ireland. The stories about this family tell of an Edward McGovern who owned lands at Hawkswood, Swanlinbar, Co Cavan. Known as Neddy na Seachneach – (Neddy the Hawk), it tells of a family who were displaced from their lands following the Batttle of Macken in 1829 in Co Fermanagh.
On this journey of research, I have come across some interesting facts which I have posted here.
I have been a gatherer of information as most of this research has come from the hard work of others. I have sought to acknowledge authors of information and other original sources.
